After our long day of hiking around Machu picchu headed to hot springs, hence name of town agua calientes! Water had a nice hazy brownish color to it and smelled a little like urine, but i was desperate for some relaxation. Plus, how could u beat "poolside" bar service. U just had to wave your hands from the pool and they would come down with cervezas. Due to my lovely arm and huge black and blue on the leg, i got ALOT of stares and questions from those that weren't afraid to approach me.
The Amazon girls left me and nicole at the springs, they had to catch train to get back to cusco for their flight the following day. We had another cerveza or two then headed back to hotel. Tons of cute bars and restaurants in town. Ate at chez maggie, great nachos, and a peruvian band to serenade us. We had the best of intentions to go out afterwards (first day i actually put make-up on) but after dinner realized we were more than exhausted. Well, it was a long day!
pics are of the town. although there were many bars, there were not many people out at them. I think probably like us, u r either waking up super early to hike mp, or very tired after hiking all day!
